Living Next Door to Hiroshima.

The thinking of the man

Goes like this:

I do

therefore

I am.

I can and so

I will.

This is the thought

that slaughtered

40 adult trees

In one horrible

Deafening afternoon

That levelled

The old stone walls

Of his own home

To save the V.A.T.

It is not

thought,

Because it is

not felt.

It is remote

Cold

Engineering.

It is the difference

between

the damage a man

Might do

by hand

And what he

Will do

by machine.
