WOW!

Wow!

A flash of light in Tescos!

A vision!

She smiled at me!

I fall on my knees.

Thank you! Thank you God! I think

As she sweeps majestically past

And my jaw drops

And my 45 year old feet sink into mushrooms

And avocados.

Wow!

There she is again

Gorgeous goddess

Gliding past the end of my aisle

And she looked at me again!

Yes she did!

My lungs gasp!

My blood beats!

My heart prepares to leave its seat!

Whose cart is this?

What shopping list?

School Governor?

New Man?

Not me!

I’m cool and mean

I don’t have children

Or

A washing machine

Or a loyalty card

Or a ford sierra

Now I’m taking corners on two wheels

And

People are giving me funny looks

And I think

I’ve made an appearance on the tv screen!

But I can't find her!

She’s not in Milk and Dairy!

Or Cereals!

Or

Ready meals!.

Then I think

Stupid me!

Frozen desserts and

Ice Cream!

That's where she'll be,

Bending over

In all her gorgeousness...

And I’ll come up behind her

And park my trolley

And neither of us will speak

And

My Vanilla will drip

Over her Dark Chocolate

And then we’ll dissolve

Into Strawberries and cream.

But the aisle was empty.

All I found

Was this damp scrap of paper

And it said:

Nappies.

Honey!

Dog food.

Dreams.
